Market Trends and Hiring Realities
There’s been a lot of talk about the market “slowing down” lately, but from what we’re seeing across Queensland, hiring is still very active, just far more considered.
Clients aren’t rushing decisions the way they were 18 months ago. There’s more scrutiny around headcount, budgets and long-term value, particularly across government and infrastructure-related projects. But the strongest candidates? They’re still moving quickly.
One thing we’ve noticed recently in Brisbane is that candidates are becoming far more selective about culture, leadership and flexibility. They’re not just looking for a role, they’re looking for the right environment.
The organisations securing great people right now are the ones communicating clearly and moving with confidence.
“The most noticeable change has been on the candidate side. People are no longer moving for incremental change, instead they are looking closely at leadership quality, team environment and flexibility and that is shaping how organisations need to position roles.”
