Senior Finance and Payroll Officer

We are seeking a Senior Finance and Payroll Officer who will be responsible for overseeing various aspects of financial and payroll management, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

As the Senior Finance and Payroll Officer, you will play a crucial role in our corporate services team, ensuring accurate and efficient financial processes. Your responsibilities include handling payroll processing collaboratively, addressing queries, and providing support to the team.

You will manage accounts payable processes, overseeing vendor payments, ensuring accurate invoicing, and maintaining strong vendor relationships. Additionally, you’ll oversee accounts receivable, supporting invoicing and ensuring timely collections, collaborating with the team to minimise aging.

Supervising General Ledger integrity involves regular reviews to identify and rectify discrepancies, ensuring precise financial reporting. You’ll assist in generating reports from Xero, offering insights based on financial data to support decision-making.

In day-to-day operations, you’ll support the Manager, fostering a high-performing team culture by providing guidance and mentorship. Compliance with legislation and policies is paramount, and you’ll stay updated on changes, implementing necessary adjustments.

Undertaking various finance duties, you’ll adapt to the organisations evolving needs, actively contributing to the continuous improvement of financial processes. Your highly organised approach will be evident as you manage and prioritise multiple tasks effectively.

Required Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate should possess familiarity with Xero accounting software and demonstrate a strong understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements. In addition to these technical skills, we are seeking an individual with excellent organisational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. Leadership and team management experience is crucial for this role, along with effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate seamlessly within our dynamic team.

Mandatory or Preferred Qualifications/Experience

  • Cert IV in Accounting & Book-keeping (as a minimum).
  • Substantial experience in payroll processing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
  • Proven experience in overseeing General Ledger functions.
